Travellers 'should be aware of hidden costs for peace of mind'
British tourists have been given travel advice to look out for hidden costs when going on holiday.
Essential Travel warned travellers that there are a number of different ways that they can save money before and during their holidays.
One piece of advice it gave was to avoid airport parking facilities as there are "hidden charges", including booking and credit card fees and cancellation waivers.
The company's Stuart Bensusan said: "Parking at the airport can be a really affordable option, but only if you do your homework and make sure you are aware of any hidden “add-ons” or extra costs."
Essential Travel revealed that these additional charges can cost up to £5 extra for each booking, with cancellation fees of up to £10.
The travel firm also advised holidaymakers to be prepared before going on holiday by taking out travel insurance policies, in order to protect themselves against unforeseen circumstances abroad.
CallUma users can continue to receive advice when abroad by accessing its Just Text HELP service, which allows them to gain answers to general questions such as what they can expect to pay for local services.
